Look in the 'scammers' thread in general I think it's in, lots of scamming on there lately. I've not used it since my 100 free posts ran out.

Well it was turning over much better with the battery charged, but that was it.
Theres something major wrong in the wiring, the fuel pump isnt getting any power. Im going to have to pull the loom apart again to see what the hell Ive done wrong

Still no progress in the wiring situation, all the wiring is fine, it should be working, but the damn fuel pump isnt priming.

Any problems with the fuel pump before hand?
What else is happening when you try to start it?

Nope, was fine. Though im suspicious of the car loom rather than the engine loom, as the fuel gauge isnt working now either, and it was fine before it came off the road, may be a fault in the wiring by the pump.

Actually, im convinced my wiring is correct - Ive studied the haynes manual wiring diagram for the past half hour, and its all exactly like ive got it wired, im going to dig into the fuel pump side of it now, it has to be in the car wiring now. Not sure how its stopped working in the car side of it, but ill take a look anyways.

Or, the other thing that is possible, the intertia switch, which I cannot find on my loom, thats the only thing the wiring should pass through before the fuse box. Apparently there are some 16v looms without one, but I would of prefered it, my yellow one had it, worked well in the crash too
Oh yeah, must note im using this thread as a place to lay down my thoughts, as im getting hellish confused with all the wires

I'm sure you'll find it, probably something simple, it usually allways is.

Have you gone back to basics with it.. Unplug the pump and check if its actually getting power for a start. If its getting power then the pumps at fault.
If theres no power at the connector start working your way forward..

It was something simple
While I was stripping the car, I found a yellow plug on the rear quater that I assume was just a spare, so removed it. Found out now that it was the earths for the pump, fuel sender and other things
Pump is now priming, but still not starting. Think I have the fuel pipes on the wrong was round, but ill wait till I get all the earths reconnected tomorrow to try again.
So off to the scrappies tomorrow for a new plug, maybe get the manual windows too.

Did you get the car started Chris?
Just looking over on 106RR at 16v guides and thought of you.
Ste
edit: that sounded a bit gay! Just wondered if you had got yours sorted.

Not yet, lack of motivation, plus waiting for parts/lack of parts means its not going yet.
Hopefully get it running before the new year at least

Finally went and did some work on the car today
Fitted the rocker covers that I have had sprayed for ages, refitted the top inlet, and replaced the hoses for the FPR. Battery is flat as a pancake so need to charge it first. Dont think its going to start though, im totally confused with the wiring now as ive left it for so long, forgot what does what
Pic of how the bay is looking now:
Got all the parts I need now to relocated the battery, but want to get it running first. Also got a stick on number plate, will be taking a hole saw to the plate recess soon.

When its the orginal 1.4/1.6 wiring to 16v, then yes, it is.
However, I bought this XSI already to converted to 16v, and the old loom was such a mess . New loom has a lot of guess work, as I didnt have the original loom to idendify what pin does what on the car side of the loom.

The standard XSI loom to a 16v loom is pretty easy

You lost me at 'XSI loom' the guy whos doing my conversion will sort all that, I've asked him to sort the loom out with all the wiring that isnt needed now, I really don't understand all that side of it.
When are you hoping for it to be ready, you buying anything else for it ?
