As I already mentioned I was very happy with the result of the engine bay and I thought I can't put that dirty engine in there so I started on the engine today

Paint or replace the core plugs

Suggestion though, Don't paint the cam cover or cambelt cover until the engine is in, running and working ok, Your most likely damage the paint when your doing the engine.

, think I'm going to do the rocker cover and cambelt cover gloss red and then do the spark plug cover gloss black. Its not set in the stone yet, beauty of it being silver is I can go for any colour I want really

Just stripped everything of my engine, timing belt, water pump, tensioners etc and went to fit the new bits only to find I have been sent bits for the later type XE

Mega pissed off!

the guy who runs it works down in larne tho

when is it?

ps if your dad has an arden blue corsa b ... i would happily take the drivers door off it

and sure its just typical when you order somethign you get wrong part

tho ducket tape it on place

was acutally hopeing he was working today so i could ask if he new of any vauxhall breakers to go look for new door

also they guy whos doing my rear discs needs to ask how awkward it would be to set up for my car

I don't know who to recommend for the door tbh, there's a lad up in Ballyclare who breaks Vauxhalls, James McFarlene his name is iirc, don't have his number to hand though.

As for the brakes, post a thread up on here, plenty have done it now, you will get all the info you need

Turns out it was my fault that the wrong parts were sent to me

I was under the Impression that all XEs with a dizzy was the early engine and XEs with a coilpack was the late engine. Turns out that some of the late engines were still made with the dizzy before they changed over to the coilpack.

So I ordered parts for an early XE when really its a late XE with a dizzy
