Well I can say I have and the FACTS are this. The corsa is a quick car and in a straight line against each other it will all depend on the driver as both are very evenly matched. The ctr WILL pull ahead eventually tho due to the higher top speed. The corsa will always "feel" faster as the engine is very torquey for a small light car and due to the nature of the K20 you need to keep it in vtec to make the car feel just as quick. There is no point what so ever rambling on about handling as we all know which is better. Please remember one is a bog standard factory car the other needs a full engine conversion to pull off the same results. Yes the corsa will be cheaper but that's only due to the fact one is a manufactors high end model the other a cheap car with a diff engine taken from a superior model. If you really wanted a fair comparison then the ctr should be put up against the corsa Vxr.
Yep
My mates EP3 used to overtake at about 80/90

I had an x20xev corsa that would wipe the floor with civic type r's !
Ask Ian on here he seen it a couple of times ! 136bhp thats all it took

Is your Corsa stripped to the hills? I can see you being able to beat them off the line and up to a certain point after that. But they will catch you eventually

Yeah I'd be taking the Honda But that's the thing, if you have a really really nice Corsa XE running about 180bhp, and an EP3 for sale, for roughly the same price, the smart money would go on the CTR because it's a far better all round car. But that's the beauty of preference. People will still buy the Corsa for the shock factor and it would easily better a standard Type R in a straight line. I know a Focus ST is going to be better specced than my car but I would never choose one over it.

Not stripped out full road trim with nothing more than an exhaust "shit powerflow one" and a filter !
It would wipe the floor with them !

Off the mark and up to a certain point it will. Type R's, and all Vtec's really are notoriously bad at getting off the line well. Either bogging down or wheelspin.

What would win,
Fiesta zetec with a puma engine or a hobo in a shopping trolley?

Yes just up till the corsa was off the clock !
Its true hondas do very good power but torque is crap power is no good without torque unless it weighs less than 200kg and has two wheels

The fact is the focus has a far better chassis in it, better brakes, probably better suspension, the corsa would be in a ditch long before the focus if it was a race round the twistys in standard forms regardless of the redtop.

Yeah now I am calling bullshit until I see proof If a redtop can't beat one up to those speeds how can you with less power and torque? Also shows you know fuckall about Honda engines because they make 144lbft of torque compared to the 136lbft of yours?
