Back to this red card affair, after initially thinking it probably wasnt, iv been listening to the debate on talksport throughout today and iv actually changed my mind, to that it was without doubt a red card.
Peoples defences to that it wasnt are, "he won the ball" "it wasnt violent or malicious" "he didnt touch nani" "he didnt intend to hurt him"
But none of that actually matters, fact is it was two footed, off the ground and he wasnt in control of his body on a slippery wet surface, if nani had stood his ground he could have been facing a broken ankle.
If that happened would we be debating it? or saying obviously it was a terrible challenge
He might not have meant to hurt him, and nani might have taken evasive action to avoid it but the fact is it was still wreckless

I've just paid £28 for Bolton away at end of month. Pretty cheap tbh.
Hope TH12 gets on.

Tbh kids make a big difference to priorities too! If I had no kids i'd be watching live footy every weekend!

common sense should prevail. it wasnt 2 footed lunge style tackle like others have been

in your case steve, as rules are rules, any shirt pulling in the box should be a penalty every time.

Its a difficult one, it was actually a brilliant tackle BUT he jumped in two footed and apparently you can do that anymore because players are fannies, so i can kinda see why the ref took the view he did. Can everyone now see why video technology would be useless in Football? 2 days on, countless replays, countless angles and STILL nobody can agree.
If i was a Man City fan i'd be fuming. If i was a Utd fan I'd say correct call.

if that collides with nanis leg then thats a severe injury, and kompany isnt in any type of control there to pull out if nani couldnt or didnt take evasive action

It's a dangerous challenge. Winning the ball doesnt matter anymore. Seen them given, and plenty more will be given too.

They have no chance with the appeal either, not a chance the FA Will overturn the decision.
It was a fine tackle, but you can't do that these days.

Kompany tackle was a red card, should have been a red card and will remain a red card. Where Nani was and the fact he got the ball first means jack in todays game.

Who saw that ball hit Keown then. He was not impressed. Bet he's over the advert hoarding during break to kill someone. Stupid place to stand by ESPN tho tbh.
