TBH, if you dont like/respect these cars, there is something wrong in your head. Mess with the Turbo or even the NA model in your 106 and prepare to be whooped.

WTF?!?!? vauxhall never intended to sell massive numbers of VX220's!! It is however very very popular with the little niche that satisfies lotus fanatics. Hell, its a Vauxhall and jeremy Clarkson thinks its one of the most fun cars he has ever driven.

I very nearly bought one, but the reason I and probably most of the world didn't was the fact its nowhere near practical enough.
I can't fault the car, although I've never driven one I'd seriously question anyone who doesn't consider it a proper thing. That engine is nothing short of lovely and the design ethic alone is enough to tell you how it goes and stops.
Maybe my lifestyle is at fault?
And I'm not getting this poor man comment. I'm never going to afford a Porsche so I nearly bought one of those instead. I'm not going to not want one just because its made by a different group of people and isn't completely crazy as opposed to just partially so.
Small house is a poor mans big house. I'm not sure where you're going there Rich.

You'd still think it was rank after a track day with one?
I'm agreeing with you btw, I couldn't live with one either, just for a slightly more objective reason that you...

I'm not upset or looking to stiffle your opinion. Just wish it was more considered some of the time?

I love the VX220 and if I had the money, I'd go and buy the turbo model tomorrow. No, they don't have the image of a Porsche or even the Lotus Elise, but if you talk to experienced drivers/journos people that have actually driven then, they'll tell you a) that they're very, very quick and b) that the handling is absolutely sublime - superior even to that of the Elise. The lack of image is actually a plus point in my books, because it means you get even more car for your money. Image is only really important for those who are insecure about their own identiity and therefor try to define it with what they own rather than who they are.
