u only need to weld it if ur doin the no. plate recess.... i can garantee wot i have done will not move, but yeh if i was to do the big recess i wud defo weld a steel plate in to take most of the depth up b4 p40'in it.

i do this for a living mate and i dont think it will but its a bvit late now

IMO weldin would have been a far better option. Especially with boot, as its repeated slammed etc. But then again, it shudnt be too much of a prob coz it looks like u know what ur doin

i never use my boot, there is no room in it anyway lol. so for the solenoid, is it just a central locking motor which pulls the boot lock to open then?

^^^ have u ever smoothed over the number plate recess of a boot, even with the plate u weld in the amount of p40 / p38 u use is much greater than this little job, and well done boots dont crack so this wont, al tell ya wot u'll b the first to know if it does lol

my brother had his welded and still cracks comin thro looks good tho wanna do mine soon

stevie - im half doin it bcoz i dont wanna flush al my boot just bcoz every1 else does it or i can, corsas r probably the most common car to mod and they all look the same...

was speakin to people for ideas b4 doin it and they all say flush it and slap the number plate on the reiger at the bottom....why? so i can b like every1 else err no! and i dont do this for a living am a 19 yr old student who likes doin his own work on his car lol...

well so will every smoth boot over time.......

Was gonna do smooth scuttle guide etc but if people r gonna just say it will also crack shud i bother lol. have some faith guys lol

persannly i think it looks good without the recess smoothed, is different but still smooth in a way!!!

how can ye half do it by fibreglassing it...? even if u weld metal there u shud still add p40.

p40 stick to metal better than p38, and p38 sticks to p40 better than it sticks to metal.
