JESUS!
You guys aint got a clue....
Stoney, the Mk1 XR2 had round headlights/1.6 ohv engine/6x13 pepperpot wheels.
The SuperSport had normal headlights/ a 1.3 ohv engine/6x13 RS alloys.
Also available were series-X performance parts from Ford, bilstein dampers, front ARB/adjustable tie bars etc.
My SS was fitted with a 175bhp 1.7 ohv x flow motor and only weighed 670kg's.
Power to weight ratio anyone...?
My Supersport to date must be my favourite car, it was only geared to do about 120mph @ 8-8.5k (4 speed quaiffe box) but it kept up with UK V spec Skylines to 120mph.
Picture the scene, Mr Flash in his Skyline nailing it only to look in his rear view mirror to see a red Mk1 fiesta right behind him.
Priceless.

The supersport was more desirable as it had a 1.3 crossflow engine basically a smaller capacity xr2 engine the mk1 sports etc. had a valencia engine which was basically untunable.

Ye, i like the Mk1/2 XR2's and Supersports
Believe it or not the MK1 Fiesta is still the car to beat in the road saloon 1400-1800cc class in the Scottish Hill Climb Championship.
Light/fast and handle well.
They're been getting developed since the 70's after all.

No idea.
I sold my one for £4100 but it was a triple Scottish Hill Climb Championship class winning/ hill climb class record holding car.
