corsa should eat a pug 106 GTi on a straight altho keeping the power down on the 2ltr is sumwhat a joke
pugs handling tho is far superior but i reckon the corsa would rip one apart due to being a more torqey engine and better top end pull too. Altho standing quarters would be close(ish)

Yes it is. Slapping on a set of coilovers still won't make the Corsa a decent handling car The 106 is the best handling car I've ever driven, perfect balance and a testiment to french hatches

If the suspension is setup well for the corsa the handling isn't going to be massively different, as standard striaght line the 1/4 will be close but a second difference with the corsa winning.
Handling wise, take it down some country roads the GTI will have the handling advantage but when the corsa gets its power down where it can it will pull the difference back.

just for the record (with no relevance to anything here) the saxo is 4 inchs longer than the 106, in VTS/GTi forms
