at the end of the day mate,r-tec know what they're doing. you could go to backstreet garages for bits and you may get them a bit cheaper but they probably wont have half the knowledge on the parts or how to fit them. i have had shit loads of stuff from r-tec ( a couple of sets of alloys, suspension, sub, induction kit, neons, buckets etc etc) and i havnt had one problem with anything off them.customer service is excellent too

If ur happy to get ripped off, left right and centre then so be it. I'd rather call it being a dumb arse, than "caring for your car", by spending over the odds.

All the companies i deal with are professional - i dont ask advice on parts i wish buy, i research products before buying them (usually thru manufacturers themselves), and only use the ppl on the other end of the phone to double check parts.

As mentioned already, i dont trust R tecs advice, even u think they are all gods. Not only cud the monkeys in the fittin bay not sort my bro's GTi 6, but many ppl i have spoken to, even off this board, have found the idiots behind counter tryin to tell em that 16"s wont go onto a 206 lowered 40mm (which are infact a straight fit), and they tried tellin my cousin when he was lookin for an exhaust, that 306 Rallye's never existed, and that he needed to get a full system made up. pricks.

As for the window tints - it shows how much of a fuckin prick you are. The people who do R-tecs tints (or 'apparently' contract occasional work out to), are excellent. I saved over £100 quid goin direct to them, for exactly the same service/product. But i suppose thats being tight, coz i dont want to go and pay Rtec that £100+ coz they "organise everything" (Whats to organise??), and they "give you guarantees" (even when the tint place also gave me a lifetime gaurentee), and were more than happy to replace the tint film on rear screen after it was scratched. The service there is excellent, they even gave me a lift + picked me up from the train station etc. But yeah, of course mate, i suppose Rtec do that too. Foolish Bull shitting tosser. Oh, and who the hell is Tim?

If your happy to pay that premium, for the same items that cost upto 40% less else where (and i mean identical), then ur as thick as shit.

Oh - and please point out summat on my car that has been done on a budget, coz u obviously know everything bout me + my 306. I mean what a knob, i thought i'd seen the worst of this board till u come along.

I nearly always opt for express or next day delivery on goods i buy mail order to ensure i'm not waiting for anything. If a mail order compnay are unable to get my iitems, i turn to a well established motor factors who can order me in anything i need, straight from supplier, again cuttin out the "make a massive buck" middle man.

your obviously boning Jason Ripp to post up "they're the best place one earth" crap, coz they are clearly not. You can go through every item they sell, and they'll be more expensive than most other places, but coz ur a knob and u pay the "premiums" for the average service they provide, then u dont mind.

CorsaNut - motor sport world also are a business and need to make money, but i dont see them askin stupid money for the same products. They too have a showroom, but specialise in mail order to bring costs down.

willay - long lasting impression?? if ur a knob who is easily impressed, then maybe. Just coz u were stung hard for ur tints, i can understand ur a little bitter.

Chris Gray - how bout u answer my previous requests for prices + info bout my bro's torsion bar? I seen u've gone all quiet on that.

Neither people i know, have helped out, family + friends and myself ahve never had good service from them. Even if they were as good as u say, i prefer sticking to the knowledge + experience i have already, and save the £££ that you pay for so called 'advice' from R tec

Matt i'd suggest you take the torsion bar incident up with Adrian rather than Chris. Chris just works in sales & is not qualified to answer your question.
And i'd also watch your 'allegations' on a public message board as i'm sure Chris could relay this incident back to the likes of Adrian.
Not having a go, just advising you to watch what you say. And as for prices rather than Chris having to work on his break, why not give them a call on 01727 790100 to find out prices.

Yeah I noticed. If you had asked for advice from anyone with half a brain, they'd have told you to leave your tractor powered pug standard, or sell it and buy a decent car!

I am actually a bit sorry that I've been so harsh with you, but you gotta admit that you came in here stamping your foot down like you knew everything. Just because your brother apparently had a bad experience with them, it doesn't mean that R-Tec are no good. Perhaps you should do the proper thing, and instead of slagging them off on a notice board, why don't you go there and discuss it with the company directly? Is it because, you are embarrassed, because, perhaps, they didn't do anything wrong and your brother is in fact a numb nut?. The success of R-Tec demonstrates just how many satisfied customers the company has. After all, if they're so bad, why do so many people go there? Surely they must be doing something right!

I think you'll find that the motor factor *is* in fact a "middle man". Do you honestly think that they dont make any profit from you? What, they survive on favours? Surely they buy straight from the supplier, add on their premium, and then sell to you for a higher amount. Isn't this what any shop does?

You moron. You asked for a price at 3.27pm on Saturday. Unless Chris works night shift at R-Tec and (sunday) morning shifts as well, then of course he can't get you a price by now!! why don't you wait till Monday and I'm sure he'll give you a quote. or phone up and ask someone else there, Im sure they'll be happy to help you

The interesting thing is that despite you slagging R-Tec off so much, you're still asking for a quote - presumably therefore, you will still buy from them if their price matches what your tight ass wallet is willing to pay?!

So you do like them after all

I notice you had no response to any of the points I raised in my last post though!

I don't think this needs to drag on any further, I think everyone knows the score now.

Matty you really are a chump aren't you

16s wont fit on a 206 !!! when was that phone call for a start, one of our staff cars is sitting on 18s for about 2 years and we do 17s day in day out

As for your price for the clifford, we wont fit it to your car, full stop... if we're such a bad company how come in nearly every issue of max power fast car or any of magazine has R-tec stickers in the window.

As for your brother i have to agree with blacktigra, whos the mug if he can't even pick up the phone to talk to one of us about the situation... to me thats just stupid, and i think you'll have to agree...

whats this: Everyone knows the score - i know how i feel and so do the ppl who got in contact with me.

People that got in contact with you what are they shy... because anyone that has any clue about business wont agree with you on this...

Just wondering, what do u do ?? for a job apart from working out your mpg, because i mean anyone that does that is kinda SAD really

If you and your brother wanna come down to R-tec to talk about this then feel free....

I'm gonna prevent my arguementative mood now - just gonna let u get on with thinkin Rtec is great, ok?

but to clarify, as i've said - i just cant be arsed right now - i've not only explained wot happened with my brother's GTi6 lowering, + why he hasnt been back, but obviously ur too thick to go back and read my posts. (In all fairness' he's not strapped for cash like us student types, and his personality isnt as moany etc as mine).

Theres NO WAY i'd turn to R Tec to get my alarm fitted, i dont know where u got that idea, i was requesting a quote so we can demonstrate online the difference.

I dont read max power or fast car, or any of that crap.

several ppl have u2u'd mee requesting the phone number for tint master, 1 who wanted a quote and the others for tinting, after readin this post.

I'm a student Civil engineer, for civil engineering consultancey group, full time.

I dont know if u failed maths at skool mate, but working out ur average mpg is pretty easy, and takes sod all time. But depends on how ur clever u are really.....it seems it might take u a while?

At the time, my brother spoke to one of the fittin/workshop ppl, who were unable to help. They said the t/bar had seized, and they were unable to lower the rear of his car, but at the time, my brother obviously had no reason to challenge this as he hadnt inspected the car himself, before this (he'd not had it long). Now, later that day, there were gear box difficulties on the same vehical, it went to a garage where my brother told the garage staff bout his lowering dilemma. They said leave it with us, and the rear of his pug is now happily sitting 40mm lower. Altho like Andy says, ur simply a member "sales" staff, so i wudnt expect u to understand, although what benefits would i gain from comin in to see you, now that the work is done?

I agree u have a set charge for work (per hour), and that u charged accordingly to how long ur fitting staff tried for, but i suppose its pretty clashing opinions on whether this is too much etc. Altho, my brother was generally unhappy with the member of staff who he liasoned with, and just got the general feel of "sorry cant do it, £65 please".

Ok - but now listen - i've said wot i've had to, and had my rant, however stupid most of u have found it.

I used the lowering situation as an example - and as u rightly say, my brother shud have taken u up more on this. Its not really anything to do with me.

Fair play to R-tec, but this will be my final post on the matter. Thanks for ur time anyway Chris.

R-tec are a very proffesional company who probably do have extremely high profit margins... but they wouldnt have this if the customer was never happy.

yes they have made mistakes that i could name, with alloys being orderd that dont fit ect. but they also corrected this problem and made it worthwhile for the customer.

Matty B is entitled to his opinion the same as anyone else, but you can argue till your blue in the face lads, it wont change R-Tec's well established name in the modified car scene.

I still see R-tec stickers in London when im at work, even seen a clio with R-Tec stickers in flippin Chester! It is a big name, and people will pay the £££ to use thier services. Its that simple.
