Got too long to read! Relaistic figure is multiply your annual wage for 2.5 and this is how much the mortgage company will lend you! Me and Rob got a 97% mortgage on our house which totalled £66,930 borrowed! We pay back £350 a month exc the insurance you HAVE TO take out!
We bring in just over £2k a month so we can afford it! The bills ain't bad either!

p.s. our house is a 6 year old 3 bed semi with drive and we paid £69k for it. Not over looked, down a cul-de-sac and on the outskirts of town

Don't think you pay higher interest on 100% mortgage..I had one 10 years or so ago...
Think there was a fee of about £250 for it..But they can just add it onto the mortgage so not paying anything out..
