granted he is a good player yes, but i think its sad the way hes gettin all the glory for england winning, as someone pointed out they play as a team and therefore should all get the praise, not one player! he could not have won by himself! alot of people are suddenly buying JW merchandise etc when they hadnt even heard of him before the world cup, its a bit sad tbh

This is true. Its the public who's making it out like this. Any interview you see with him and he quite clearly shows how it was a TEAM effort and he just had the last kick. But then thats his position, its no different from any other Fly Halfs job.
However, he is my favourite player, even before the WC. I think his all round game is fantastic!

Mindless individuals and groups who think football is the greatest game on earth and needs far more skill
These people haven't ever even probably touched a rugby ball.
Also, how many fights u see in rugby croweds? No attitude, yet half of them are players themselves and wouldn't be too shy if need be. I mean, even in the final, England and Aus fans in the same stands.
Something that will never happen in football without a fight. Footballers and supports have that Yob image. Rugby is a gentlemans game played by people with morals and standards.

Rugby is a gay game, and yes I have played it and it's boring as hell.
Football has a yob image because it is a working class game. Rugby's history is not working class.
as for sharing the same stand. look at the scottish support where every they go. when was the last time there was any trouble ( England Games not included )

You like football, that its a poofs game. I can see why you like it
Rughy is a working class game, its just not for retards (who then go and play football).
And yes, i have played both games properly. Rugby needs far more thinking and skill.
And Rugbys history is not working class? Correct me if im wrong (Which im not), but didn't William Webb Ellis (hence the Web Ellis World cup trophy) pickup a football and start running with it!!

I didn't say he wasn't one of the best fly halves in Union, I said his distribution and running weren't up to the standard of the better League half backs, Adrian Lam,Danny McGuire,Rob Burrow,Danny Orr etc, then there are the Australian's, Andrew Johns (the best rugby player in the world) Stacey Jones, Brad Fittler, Craig Gower, Brett Kimmorley etc etc. All these players are far superior ball handlers, I'll admit they aren't as good kickers, his drop kicking is exceptional, especially bearing in mind he can use both feet. I'd rate Haseem El Masri as a better place kicker though, he kicked 32 successful goalsin a row last season.
Also, rugby started out as one game, in the North it was played mainly by miners and mill workers whereas in the South it tended to be played more by the upper classes (business men, landowners etc).
The northern teams were far more successful but arguements started about the paying of players, this is why the game split in 1895 and the Northern Rugby Union, what we now know as Rugby League, was formed as a professional sport.
