Legally sex is acceptable but ask yourself these questions.
Is she going to go crazy and start stalking you when you finish because she thinks you'll be together forever and you're her one true love?
Does she even know what she's in now?
Is she actually good in bed or just you just like the concept?
Does she ever offer to drive?
Can she even get insured?
How would she look on a mortgage application?
Nothing against young birds but they don't fare well in the above equation.

At the end of the day if shes mature enough and dos'nt act like a silly kid then fair doo's but at the end of the day she will act her age sometimes and thats when you'll relise shes only a teenager, granted she can get married and even have a kid legally if she wants but most people wont see it that way, you've got to expect some people shouting abuse at you as some people will just ask why not someone your own age.

being mature comes with age, and so becomes more acceptable
not saying relationships are based on maturity, just that the people around you accept at an older age why your actually with that person

Shelly, its not the difference in years, its the fact that young girls are just that - look at the reasons I've listed.
Percentage difference gets lower, 35 and 43 doesn't sound half as bad but that isn't the point here.
That teacher ought to check the law as well, Sexual Offences (Amended) Act of 2000 clearly states that you must not have sex with someone under 18 if you are in a position of trust in relation to that person! Regardless of whether the girl attends the school at which he works, legal precidence states that this is still iffy!
I'd take issue as his employer as well. Very iffy.

if you're both happy and both know what you're gettin your self into, then yeah sure why not, but you both also have to understand the complications etc. if you're both happy together then you shouldnt really let silly judgment get in the way, however some good points have been raised (e.g ians post).
