In the settings. Try typing 192.168.0.1 in the address bar and pressing enter

No there should be a reset function in the settings somewhere. That number above is the IP address assigned to it. But I dont know if it will work the same for you, as both of mine are modem/routers.

my mate had 516k (or wotever) aol - and upgraded to 1meg - he didnt get the meg for 2 weeks, and couldnt even get on the broadband, so was using 56k for 2 weeks, getting charged the 40 quid a month 1 meg fee - PMSL - bastards

yeah if its cable (NTL) surely the modem just updates, gets the new cert thing and then BAM you got it.
ADSL on the other hand takes a few days or a week cause the someone actually has to go to your local exchange and fiddle with things iirc

If it's NTL just power off the modem, turn it back on after a few seconds...
On boot up it uses TFTP to fetch the new config. Cable usually takes upto 24 hours to become available, but if a reboot of the modem doesn't fix it then phone NTL as they haven't updated your DOCSIS config properly...

yea, phone em mate. It should have been a simple case of switch off modem, leave it for a few minutes and wacking it back on to get the new config file from the server. But it hasnt done that, so its probably down to some monkey in NTL forgetting to change your account to 1mbit connection
