I wouldnt get anything too mental ie. Pulser, RX7, supra, GTO etc. unless I had another £7k in the bank to fix it when it fucks up

Id get the new Fiat citycar thingy (cant member name) Its £6995 and you'll get a bit of change for a Maccy-D's on the way home from your exciting Mazda Dealership, plus you can relax with the peace of mind you're in a new car with full warrenty. Get polished effect wheel trims and some stickers and you'll go unnoticed at the local cruise, possibly respected??
No?
Anybody?

Seriously though if it were me Id go for the MR2 Turbo as said before. Im obviously bias tho, but If you spend a grand on it you'll see 60 in under5 sec. Much more reliable than a Pulsar or RX7. Not as Grandad as a Beemer and certaintly a more modern car than a MK1 Golf or R5T.
Just my 2 cents...

mazda 323 4x4 turbo would be good value for money. one went near me not long ago, you'd have had 6k to mod the engine
maybe a civic with 2.2 conversion??
