basically a bleed valve bleeds air from the pipe that goes to the actuator so instead of 10psi the actuator see's 5psi. however bleed valves allow wastegate creep so you lose boost. exampl I have a 0.8bar actuator so if I did not have a bleed I would get 0.8bar or pressure. with a bleed I can bleed a certain amount of pressure away but the boost will still fall. example I current peak at 17.5psi at 2850rpm but it falls to 13ish at 6000rpm. with this valve I'll have hopefully around 15psi at the redline but still have 17.5psi peak.

you get them from ebay.

Yeah andy shoudl get a bit more from it and can run more boost. maybe end up with 165-170hp running the same peak pressure. more torque too

the idea of the boost controllers is that no air gets to the actuator until a certain pressure has been reached, as the actuator will still open slightly at low boost. therefore it should reach max boost quicker therefore should be quicker upto about 3000 rpm. to be honest i didnt notice a great deal of difference when i fitted mine, but hey, it might do on another car, with another brand of controller.
