the easiest way to find out if it's from ireland is to look at the v5.My old mk2 gte was from ireland and where it says number of former keepers was different.It tells you the amount of keepers from the date it was bought over and not when it was built.So the thing to look for for eg is if it's a 1999 car but the owners reads 2 since 2002 would mean it's been imported but if it says 2 since 1999 it's a uk car with irish plates.hope this helps

yeah best way i suppose.but hpi won't show if it was damaged in ireland only shows up from when it was registered in the uk i think

if it was an insurance write off in Ireland, and put back on the road thru the proper means then it will show up in UK also
DVLA check against the Irish when you register it
if its been crashed and repaired and not reported then that is still just the same as buying a car in the uk thats been wrote off and put back on the road without the insurance knowing

ones similar to my old reg JUI 3xx0 which was on my car before bringing it to the IOM was going for £425 on DVLA site
they go for about £250-500 depending on them
stick the 3 initals into the DVLA reg search and you'll get a rough guide
people also like them cause it hides the age of the car

an english reg relating to the age of the car
the english reg can not be younger than the age of the car

so can i just ring the dvla and tell them i want an english reg and want to sell the one thats on. Then would they just issue it an english reg. It should be a 51 reg so will they give me one of those?
