but all of that is true but tweeters arent always best to be high up. its a matter of preference. best sound i usually by keeping the mid and tweeter close together. and its all about getting equal path distances too but thats another story....

Actually, the best place to have tweeters for out and out sound quality is the footwell believe it or not. Most people mount them further up because its just easier.

So your saying dont bother with 6x9s and dont use the standard rear speakers either???

Just have the sound coming out of the front speakers and a sub/amp in the boot???

mmmm sounds strange thought you needed the rear speakers/6x9s??

Thats right, you don't need rear speakers at all. I only have front components which are amped and 1 12" sub amped and thats it. It sounds so much clearer than it did when I had 6x9s. There seems to be alot more bass aswell.

Oh and you want the sound stage to be at the front. Someone once told me that you wouldn't go to a concert and sit with your back to the stage so why put speakers behind you in a car.

mmmm some good points there......

now im thinking forget the 6x9s - replace the front speakers instead, get a VIBE sub/amp all in one box and then set my Headunit to just use the front speakers.....

Is this still good to listen to for the people sat in the back?? - AHHH who cares i dont sit in the back

hmm i think 6x9's are good in a small car especially if you have a high pass cross over amp on them, provide good vocals, as well as some decent components up front
