no hid is high intensity discharge, ie hid when turn on a small amount of gas is ignited giving that strong really good looking light
But would this be the closest thing to HID in your opinion? if not what do ya recommend?
yeah that is the closest youll get im afraid. personally i wouldnt buy that kit-looks a bit shoddy

hold on. you lot gettin confused. a hid bulb alone costs about 150 notes. later c have bi-zenon. all it is is a purple reflector in a ballast housing. hid id gas discharge, and to get this you need 12v-25000v transformer new wiring looms and bulbs. i only ever done one on a vectra b and parts alone were over £1k.
This purple reflector in a ballast housing ?? how much are you talking there then ?? is it possible to replicate this systmn ??

on bi-zenon for the corsa very cheap. if proper hid very expensive. you need 25000v to ignite the gases in the hid bulb. they comprise of mainly noble gases and traces of argon. to cope with 25000v u need a transformer to boost from 12v to 25000v which are v expensive as well as new wiring looms to cope with new amounts of power flow etc. to replicate the corsa c dual ellipsoid effect. i wouldnt know. i do no though that i prefer the corsa c set up as opposed to proper hid. cheaper and dont burn your retinas

My mate fitted HID lights to his smart. They flicker when you turn em on same as the Xenons on my Astra, but they're not available in H4 so I can't have them for the Corsa

funny story. ordered it after seeing one in brochure with it in. he demanded it from vauxhall even though they said illustration purposes only. but he kept on the eventually gave in, so after 8 months of it bein on order it went to belgium for the interior and when in belgium it had a accident on the nsr 1/4 area. they tried to cover it up but used the wrong shade of arden blue-used arden blue from corsa b and not opc arden blue, and forgot to put rear moulding on, so when arrived stuck out like bad thumb. finally our bodyshop finished with it. has irmscher rear lights on BLUE interior and m3 mirrors and some blue engine bay bits, big exhaust etc. beauty of a motor. piccies tomorrow hopefully. ps as far as he is aware it is the ONLY MK4 astra gsi with the blue alcantara interior. worth keeping hold of me reckons!!

If the lenses on the new corsa headlights r anything like the ones on the clio's with dual optics it'll cut the blue out of the philips blue vision. Thats what its done on my pals clio anyway.

Why dotn u all get the bulbs that i had in my old corsa c!?
Bought themfrom a local place... they are all in japanese writing etc and the name on the box is TYPE R (NOT TYPE VR) Galaxy white HID effect. These bulbs are bright as fuck!
They give off a bright white light (birhgter than piaa i shall add) and have a tint of blue to them aswell.
shall try get a pic...
