i have illusion cyan to purple over a black base coat,its fuckin gorgeous under any light as it shows loads of copper/gold,light pinky purpley colours all through to a darker more blue purple. only have a couple of old pics that were taken when the sun wernt out properly so it doesnt look half as good as usual.
gonna take some pics this weekend of it under proper light,ill post them up.

Im sure the lack of sun isnt really doing the paint justice there. Looks abit darker than i would want tbh.

no probs mate,it was abit of a crap day so it looks quite dark.
i know someone whos got a blue basecoat on a fiesta with the same illusion paint.looks abit lighter but doesnt seem to flip as much

Look at the pix of the R-tec escort painted in that colour. I dont know weather a different base coat or more paint was used as the effect was so dramatic. One of the best flips ive ever seen. simply stunning.
I dont know how flips are "old news" its like saying red cars are "old news" its just a colour?

I would always go with the black basecoat tbh. But like u say, its the light. Cos there is a huge difference from ur pic to that 306... yet its the same colour... shows u how wacky that paint is

The r-tec cossie was painted using allot of the paint to give a really good effect. But it also had its own blue basecoat to make the colour its own as well. If i was to go for the ecstasy, then i would basically copy the colour of the basecoat and everything to make sure the effect was the same, cos like you i think the effect is one of the best examples of flip paint

one of the best flips ive ever seen.
Plus the dawsons R5, had the weirdest id ever seen, it was like a solid colour that flipped.
Olus theres a accord coupe from donny somewhere that had a decent flip too, based on the R5 paint i beleive

thikn its called "bondai beach" or sumat like that.
