Righty, to the best of my knowledge Ive only ever really seen Mk2's, 3's and 5's

Mk2's are still available new for £320ish, Mk5's replaced the Mk3's and are £400ish new. (that's per deck prices of course, not per pair)

2nd hand resale value varies but as long as they're in good condition, plus because they're solidly built I'd guess at £200+ for Mk2's and £300+ for Mk5's

like i say once i looked into it, but didnt have a clue what i needed, or what sort of spec the things should have, i am a total beginner, dont have a clue, really only want to do it so i can make my own CD's for the car, coz hate everyone elses efforts lol.

For starters you want 2 decks, a mixer, some headphones and some RCA leads to plug into a hi-fi or separate amp, etc. Then a minimum of 2 records and away you go Just trust me, at first it seems bloody hard

Yup you can, but really you'd want CD decks with vinyl emulation - approx. £750 a pair upwards

I've spent so much on my 12" collection - mainly the back-catalogue. Well worth it but it is costly.

Vinyl's a lot more 'hands on' and pysical. It makes listening to Mix CDs weird cos you aren't doing anything with your hands!
