I had my Stage 1 of the process about 1 month ago,

so i know everything you need to know,

3 main areas

Fitness

Role plays

P I R T - police inital recruitment test (this is split up into four sections)

Fitness is easy,

usually made up of a beep test, grip test and also push/pull test,

I pissed all over my fitness, they only require you to go to level 4.6 on the bleep test which is like a fast jog not running, and the other two parts are simple for blokes, just hard for the ladies...

Roleplays is hard

best way i can desribe it is like your first driving test...

You dont know what to expect, even if people have been explaining to you exactly what happens...

You will get given a scenario (sp) and you get say 30 seconds to read it on a priece of paper,

you then go into the room and speak to somone or prepare somthing for 5 minutes,

you need to be seen to get information from the person or evidence and you MUST make a decision

this is where i failed

i was told i did not come up with a firm decision

last test is just the standard police test used by all forces nation wide...

it covers maths, english and time frame thingies,

the test is quite simple really, just you dont get much time

its multiple choice to so can just guess if u have no idea

hope this helps anything else you wanna know gimmi a shout,

oh and also, as i failed on one section, i got invited back in september to re take it

so goodluck to me for then

yea its like that for the first two years where your on your probation period,

standard normal bobbie doing boring things,

but after the two years are up you can choose and go into your specialised area of intrest,

CID
Traffic
Fraud

etc

I cant wait to get me self behind the wheel of a Volvo T5 and just sit on the motor ways all day going to RTA's etc etc

mint job i think, and very rewarding too
