Why tune a corsa diesel in the first place? Surely you will get better gains from the petrol models for less money???

talk about cars of cmparative power to start with, i.e. 1.5TD and 1.2 16v
it all goes back to the petrol vs diesel thing at the end of the day. yes i do prefer petrol but there are lots of good things going for diesels and id have them again, especially the new BMW 535d (3.0TT, 272bhp, 413lb ft, 0-60 in 6.6s, limited to 155mph)

well, i to tune a diesel engine and not a petrol one? for instance and just to start you can get 200HP from a 1.5TD that's why! you just need to know what to do
here in portugal there is a corsa 1.5TD with about 240HP just for your information... Evo 7´s just eat his smoke

here's the list of what i'll do to my engine:
audi a4 intercooler
turbo at 0.9bar (0.6 factory)
take out the middle exhaust panel and the cat
more fuel
oil cooler
and that's it
i should get about 100HP

essexracer has a 1.4 16v with velos torque tube, unichip and decat and his car was the same as mine speed wise when we were going to pvs.

oh, i have ordered lots of parts, which in total cost me less than £100 which should let me see 120-130 bhp. so for a grand total of £150 i will have got an 80% power increase. you would never get that from a petrol corsa

kris TD I still don't know how you have 99HP with just boost at 0.85bar at some fuel, that's almost impossible! at least i'm talking in portugal and to get 100HP you have to have intercooler and lots of fuel along with 1.1bar.... how do you explain this? there is always the possibility that the rollers you used to do the test were very friendly and wanted to offer lots of HP

well when i was running higher boost it was actually slower than it is now.
had the dyno done is december when it was 12 degrees out.
its the induction kit, honestly, it made a huge difference when i turned the fuel and boost up.
only thing i have to compare it too in reguards to wether the dyno was accurate is the other cars that had it done at the same time.
another 1.5 td with the same mods as me made 78 bhp, a 1.2 16v made 71 bhp, 2l 16v made 161 bhp and 155 bhp and several volve t5's got 240 bhp, think most of them were chipped though
power engineering in uxbridge, hardly a cowboy hut.
but then we cant make my brothers corsa td as quick as mine, but then he has PAS which seems too suck lots of power, as do you, and air conditioning.

and btw is a cone filter better than a panel filter?
yes, noticable different from an induction kit and a drilled aribox and panel filter. cone is far superior, essecially if you bolt it on the turbo
why would you want to bolt the air filter directly to a turbo which generates a shit load of heat
its not straight on the turbo, there is the fuel filter inbetween it and the turbo and its directly above a wheel arch liner.
for some reason isuzu decided to have the inlet running through the top of the inlet manifold, guess it warms the air up to either reduce power or quieten it down.

Kris, iirc, power engineering does have a reputation for high reading rollers. the better ones ive heard about are Interpro and Power Station.
As an aside, i put a pipercross airfilter, mongoose backbox and a bleed valve on my car and it made 87bhp and that was after i turned it down. i turned it down again after the RR session to reduce the chances of damage to the engine

what's a PAS? my AC only steals power if it is on. if it is off it's like it wasn't there
i also think the air would be a lot colder without going through the top of the inlet manifold a good option would be a CDA without passing through there

really??? does the PAS steals HP? i never thought of that... i think i'm going to get a way to put an air filter shielded from the hot air and without going through the inlet manifold this plus the intercooler should get me about 100HP

The PAS pump is driven by a belt on the engine, so theoretically it saps a small amount of power.
This also means that teh more electrics you have running on your car i.e. lights, wipers, stereo, heaters etc etc, you place more load on the alternator and this again saps power from the engine. im sure its only a small amount but, it all counts

didn't know
does anyone thinks a CDA is worth to put in the 1.5TD? without passing through the inlet manifold it could get some HP no?

how much pressure can the original turbo take by the way? i'm talking about a pressure so the turbo can last lots of miles. i was thinking in 1bar but maybe it's too much. perhaps 0.9bar would be better and would not heat the air as 1bar

Put a new set of wheel trims on it and maybe a cheap CD Playrer and use it as a runabout.
