you mean E36, and if you mention the dreaded VANOS unit in front of my mate I think he would probably cry! His Evo has cost him a hell of a lot of $$$ so far...
This is the worry with the e36 :S
Yeah jus over £2k, but ours went and wen we spoke to BMW, we said we had full BMW history etc etc fort it out and ended up paying jus over £200 and BMW paid the rest

and who says I haven't driven both? Chalk and cheese springs to mind. The E46 is by far the best but I'd expect new technology to be, the E36 is cracking on for 11 years old now hardly surprising a 40k car designed in 00/01 is better. E36 is nice but I'd hang in for 46 prices to drop when the new M3 is out next year

Its quite obvious the latest technology is going to mean a faster, better, smoother car. The E46 CSL is on par in terms of performance with 100k+ cars IMO

But fact is, you could drive an E30, E36, E46.... it doesnt matter, the M3 is a status symbol. Any cnut who knows their biscuits gives a knowing nod of approval as you floor the fcuker off into the distance!
