Just a few thoughts...
If its all about taxing stuff that putting out bad emissions why are they not slapping it on aircraft fuel - planes are MUCH MUCH more damaging that cars are person so let them pay.
Lets be honest about this - i know its about doing our 'bit' BUT its pointless. Unless the likes of US etc sign up and do the same its virtually a waste. So we reduce our output by 20% at the rate the americans go they will be increasing it by at least that so its not going be much better. Until someone makes the US follow the same lines I will not be supporting it.
That said all those thinking we are taxed heavily - overall we are not really - you compare ALL taxes with other countries i.e. Germany and you will find we are not that badly off.
As for the Vote BNP - its the crap like that IMO that will make the country just go downhill. The BNP is just a racist party trying to use the odd policy to try and claim they are not racist. You can still be against Asylum etc and not be racist but they are not by a long way

Thing about public transport is that its more expensive than driving etc.
I drive to my Mums in Cornwall and it costs me maybe £40 in fuel for the round trip of over 500 miles, equilivent bus is £25 as far as Taunton (80 miles short) each way or £97 for the train.
Even a train into Oxford is £8 return which i can do in my car for about £2 plus a quid or so to park.

Thing is at the end of the day if it costs a bloody mint to fill up, I'll still drive... I'm just gonna be poor ...
public transport is shit and I like the independence of driving.
I filled up last night and it was 91p a litre!! nearly a pound a litre ffs!!!
Takes the piss.
As someone said, american's put out more pollution than the whole world combined and their fuel is the cheapest of all...
What people forget though is that air craft pollute the atmosphere far more than little cars.
a single plane flying to america is the equivalent of several million cars going up and down the whole length of the M1 in emissions.
Think about how many planes you see in the sky. Should be planes getting taxed more, not cars.

been wthout my car for 3 weeks and it fucking sucked spent so much money on travel, im due to start work in windsor and the trains there run like every 30mins which is a joke, your surrounded by pykies, wasps, smelly old people and wankers with laptops and the FT.
Its SO hot on a train and if your in a suit theres no escape, i nearly puked i was so hot coming back form windsor, of which i have to go out to slough to change and go back in to maidenhead. It takes like 10mins tops in the car Probably like £1 in petrol too, Train its £4!!!!
Public transport tube excluded is a joke. I avoid it at all costs. would rather walk
