actually true performance figures for a pug 106 gti are

BHP 120 BUT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO BE BIT MORE SLIGHTY

0-30 = 3.2

0-60 = 8.2

0-100 = 23.9

1/4 MILE 16.6 @ = 86 MPH

TOP SPEED 126 MPH

i know this cos i went to peugeot to install new rams on the hydraulics beds and that was close to when 106 gti was new and all the staff was biggin it up cos i said i dont like them and i asked for info and also the performance figures

when you consider an xe in say a calibra the 0-100 time is still 22 secs flat and they a alot heavier than a corsa so in a straight line an xe will well basically WIN

as for handling as said b4 get coilovers and bushes etc your onto a winner

one thing ppl forget also is that if u tune a 106 u gotta spend alot of money to get 155 bhp like an xe, remember xe is 155 bhp as standard wack some throttle bodies on that and you messing with imported scooby's

The 106GTi looks nice as standard and handles very well. The also keep there value. Now for the bad points, Pug charge a bomb for repairs and services and there customer service is shite. I've used 3 dealers and it's the same service all the time. It's give us your cash and fuck off, oh and we haven't even fixed your car.

I WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER PUG, EVER!

look im not arguin seems truth hurts ppl sometimes, instead of ppl just accepting it they have to big up cars performance's etc etc 106 gti's are quick cars i never said they werent, but couple of m8's have them and one m8 has a calibra 2.0 16v and in a straight line the 106 is slightly slower although its close.

but remember the calibra does 0-100 in 22 seconds and 106 is ever so slightly slower so cant be 20 secs, well STANDARD ANYWAY

No Ian, XE the corsa. U know u want to. Think about people wanting to race a corsa and u blow em away, with GTI its more predictable its goin to be fast

well mate everyone raves on about them and i've driven both and i decided to keep my corsa after driving one...handles sweet, looks ok stock and fairly nippy

only cons are you really have to keep them buzzing to get them going, found it restless to drive, and dash was well gash and it cost more than my XE to insure, doors felt like they were going to fall off, and also two of my mates have owned them and were plagued with electical problems and leaky sunroofs.

sure my corsa dont handle as well but its nice and torquey and the powers there instantly when i need it....

if u are at trax or goin to trax lemme know cos i'll be more than happy to show u what the LM stylings demo car can do
