If he had steering controls to suit his disabilities then he would probably beat your corsa off the line Venom...

vti will kick the gsi arse, my car dont stand a chance against a standard vti, really walked from me and im running 140bhp from a 1.6, i also got more torque than the vti. i also like to add i dont wheel spin everywhere etc, was even till i changed to second gear then it just kept going away from me all the time. then if you get a full exhaust decat manifold and a nice induction kit then stick a uni chip or a V-AFC on the civic youll get about 175-180bhp, then u have no chance, according to a previous civic vti owner with a zorst and induction kti there was not alot between his car and a 2.0ltr corsa. they are suprisingly quick

not true, new inlets give gains remapping etc, just the usual stuf and lots can be had of ebay for little money!! respond better to tuning that you think, and they make a good stage for turbo or supercharger thats why people do it as it can be done quite easily

a vtec controller on its own is shite, just lowers the vtec kick in meaning the engine will run lean, you then need to get somthink to alter the fuel, like a uni chip but at 450 a pop the uni chip can do the lot, so u need to get a V-FAC (Vtec, fuel, and controller) to do it properly, can be had off ebay for 150, look funky too, i got an apexi one waiting for my civic vti coupe

holy shite!

so you saying a 150ish BHP corsa wont stand a chance against a "standard" civic Vti let alone a tuned one!!!

the Vti must have some sort of a weakness!!!!?

i sat alongside my mates 166.3bhp vti in my 1.6 106 xsi in 2nd gear i had to slow down to let him in before he crashed into a car, and before you all ask it was straight line accelleration in the same gear as its a mate of mine

he wasnt best pleased but it hink the gsi will be good off the mark but lose top end as my mates vti did 127 down backroads i cant get that outta my car on the A12

example/ Corsa driver may make later gear changes resulting in better acceleration, and the civic driver may select a higher gear lower down the rev range, resulting in sluggish acceleration giving the gsi the edge.

VTi ran 14.9 against me at york 2 weeks ago and it was standard.... to get a corsa 1600 to match this would take a fair bit of tuning

There was a civic jordan in banzai magasine a few months back, which uses the same b16a (*i think) engine as the vti.

It was tuned to 224bhp at the fly and ran a 13.5 1/4 mile.

Mods were:

high compression pistons
uprated con rods and crankshaft
stage 2 cams
skunk valves, vavlve springs and retainers
skunk inlet manifold
skimmed, ported, polished head with spoon head gasket
spoon sprocket set
70mm throttle body with 380cc injectors,
uprated fuel pump and regulator, uprated spark plus and leads,
uprated clutch
spoon 4-2-1 manifold, and exhaust system
dastex unichip

Ok quite a bit uprated but 228bhp from a n/a 1.6 engine - YES PLEASE
