i've owned a 5gt turbo they are shit, i've owned an escort rs turbo, the standard suspension and ride of them is crap, so if you plan on getting one set aside £700 for a suspension aswell as the car price, i've driven a punto gt turbo, nippy little things, but feel too rolly for my liking.
or sell your spleen, pancreas and one fo your lungs and just buy a sierra cossie 4x4 turbo

I love Fords!
But if you look at same power RST's to me, they can't get the 1/4 mile times my Corsa does, and they got an LSD on the box (all be it crap, but better than mine!).
Like venom says, get a Cossie! I was going to before I found my car!

Not at all!
Odd really, but I've mates with them and I much prefer the kick of mine, which I never thought I would say! Cossies used to feel fast, now they just don't kick like the corsa.
Even when I went out in a 4x4 low comp T34 running greys (circa 380-400bhp, holding 30ish psi) it felt smooth compared to mine! And surprisingly I beat it down the duel carrageway too!
If the Corsa went sideways it'd be perfect!
Still getting a cossie next, but it will have to be RWD, and running the tried and tested T4, 8 greens etc.. or a GT35 and 4 huge injectors. Needs to be 500bhp+ to be a worthwhile step up I think!
The Corsa is such an involved drive (keeping it on the road in a straight line!), and I'd need the Cossie to be just like that, or I'd get bored I think.

its actually mercury grey
Bit rusty on the old fords but from what i rember the escort RST is more better to tune than the FRST as it uses Bosch K jettronic fuel injection oposed to the EFi system on the FRST
also match it to a zetec bottom end for a ZVH conversion pioneered by Ian Howorth and your laughing
