not read everyones posts and i understand that it is just someone accessing webpages using script/plugin what ever to generate e-mails.
Just wondering Ian if you could run a query on the database to see who (IP address) has accessed all the for Classified threads. This might then give you the IP of the machine generating the e-mails and you could then block this IP. just one idea.
But i'm probably wrong and it wouldn't work at all

Its a thought, but its a lot of information to wade through as its so damn busy, and even if we find a static IP - which if its foreign is unlikely - there's nothing to stop them moving about and starting the goose chase again.
I'd much prefer people just mail back and just let these idiots know we are on to them and no sale will go ahead via this board or many others that most of the people on here will cover.

No, the last information Joff gave me was a client side exploit, which gave you a password hash which still didn't have the correct maths done on it to be valid.
Since our first concerns over caching revealing encrypted passwords, every transaction now undergoes extra checks, the exact details of which only Tim and I know about. Its not even in XMB base code.
