yup.... 7200 is std so your not really pushing it. I would not go any further on std rod bolts though..... for what it costs to replace them, just wait.

If your rebuilding dont skimp, bore it out, new pistons etc

i just had y bottom end rebuilt with oversized pistons, new shells, bing end bearings ,arp rod bolts etc etc dont cost that much more than doing piston rings if you know the right people.

i went for a 2050 cc rebore as it leaves room to rebore the block more if anything detonates

now just savong for a new top end in whcih i will do cams, slid lifters, unprated valve sprngs etc etc

deffo worth it mate

prolly looking at a good 500ish for a full strip down and rebuild

what for just the bottom end not really

best bet is to buy another block (£100-150) then throw a couple of hundread at it every month till its finished.

should not cost more than 500-600ish quid in total

my whole engine was done for 850 all in all

hmm think about getting a SS manifold (think early XE's had them) also get a decent exhaust system i.e scorpion or magnex will free up some bhp

also while the bottom end is gettin done why not geta lightened flywheel and lighted and balance crank?

no u just use a std fitement corsa system and have it adapted to the manifold.

I've kept my magnex system from my 1.4 16v served me well for 4 years now

dean i was lead to belive they are solid but i will ask more about them later 2nite and let you know.

think cally injectors are blue...no point having them unless fuel pressure has been altered and you have extensive mods as you just putting more petrol on than you need

You only just got the XE mate just enjoy it for a while
