he is past his year yes...
so would ya do a diy kit then so could connect it all up myself? know will need a box & twin-head dish reciever...
nah will only be using the card in meh own box as other ppl i know are all subscribed & dont do footy anyways

I dont actually know if we'd do a diy kit..we usually fob them off and tell them to get it installed by an independant etc..
best giving them a fone mate.

A self-install kit? You'd need a cable running from the dish to the second box surely? This isn't the average Joe's level of expertise. Installation is free ATM anyway, you just need to buy the box.

last edeal i was aware of was if u took the top package for a month (41 uqid) u got free install and free equipment and u could downgradeur pack after the first month and u need to keep ur fone line connected 24/7 for a year.

Sky are doing a deal as from the 12th of november. They install a dish, a digibox and give you a freeview digital card so you get 120 freeview digital channels.

The main cost with getting an extra digibox is the fact that sky will charge you to fit a quad LNB onto your existing dish and to supply and install a new digibox with remote ect.

I can get a quad LNB for about £20...
box is no worries, as is cabling from the dish to my room. amazez me people think its a mammoth task routing a cable but its oh so easy

It is easy, but when installation is free I'd just let them do it. Save me the hassle.

yeah so paul, do it all yourself, then phone up sky and pay £10 a month to get your bro's subscription duplicated onto your own card  (exlcudes porn)  or just pay a one off £20 charge for a freeview card.

I got it and its wicked. I went to uni in wales, they dont have channel 4 here, only S4C, so its great! £40 from dixons i think, and i got it connected to my PC so i can record programs straight onto my HDD

I don't really watch much TV but I've got a Philips freeview box, and it's great for when I do watch TV as I've obviously got a better choice of channels than just 5 channels (+ SixTV Oxford if you live in the area).
Also, I don't get a great reception with just an aerial and the TV in my room, but with the freeview box, every channel is perfect and crystal clear, and I've had no problems at all.
I can't really get Sky or cable here as I'm in a shared house, so this works well for me.
