should come out theres plenty of room on them you may need to disconnect the wires of the back of it but disconnect the battery first. How do you know the starte is engaged?

because there is a massive gap and somone who knew what he was looking at told me, but the bugger wont come out, i have disconnected everything!

i have undone the bolts, and the starter motor starts to pull out then stops, so there is a gap inbetween the starter motor and gearbox

so you should be able to see what its stuck up against???
What engine is it?
So you removed the starter and then saw it was already engaged

no, the starter wont come all the way out, if you pull it, it comes out bout an inch before it gets stuck,
its a 1.4 16v ecotek

bottom one is a 13mm bolt top one is a 13mm nut then it should slide out should be loads of room.

yea ive done both of them and undone all the wires... but it just dont seem to be coming out, ive tryed n tryed....any more deas?
