yup i agree with you mate sod evos and the bug eyed prezas, you want the real deal - The P1 well worth the cash and its an all time classic unlike newer prezas (would say evo, but evos have never been classics so )....

been playing around with insurance quotes and EVO 6 quotes are coming in considerably cheaper than the RA and STi quotes. defo an EVO
P1 would be nice, but still think your having a laugh at 12k unless its a shitter 16k more like it.

p1 is the best uk version unless they sold the 22b over here
my dad used to have a p1 back in 2000 when they first came out, was a fantastic car but build quality was shite. And in the end it got wrote off, not dads fault though.
Then we had a evo on hire for a week just a evo6 in a purpley colour! i fell in love with that! much better than the scooby

what is the difference between the P1 and 22B??
from doing abit of googling i can see only a few changes, although the P1 produces more power - 280 instead of the 22b's 276bhp etc

How can you say a Tommi Makinen Evo isn't a classic?! only 250 in each colour were bought into the UK - rarer than a P1! The TME is the all time classic Evo

There was a good story on Scoobynet about Mel C buying her 17 year old brother the very first 22b in the country..car was 55K and the insurance was 7.5K which she payed both off in full! Oh and he had a 5K ICE install after a week
Never drove it like a 17 year old though so it's still in one piece
Set it's got to be a TME in that dark blue colour man

i just did mate, thats how i said it
but seriously though, you never hear anyone say...oh yea the TME is a classic everyone knows about P1s because it IS a classic car etc etc
You saying that only 250 were built or brought to this country, doesnt make it a classic You could have a one off car, but it still doesnt make it a classic. A classic car has reasons behind it for it being classic...and in the P1 case, because of McRae and his WRC days.
You can argue this until the cows come home, but you will never see a TME in a list of classic cars

They both produce an official 276bhp, the 280 you refer to is ps.
The 22b is a 2.2 hence the name.
The P1 was brought out to tempt people away from the superior (imo) STi Type-R

Looks like I've been told, being an importer I know nothing I seem to remember Tommi Makinen winning a few WRC titles as well as Mitsi winning constructors, then again I know nothing so I'm probably wrong
