least im spending loads more than a valver conversion, for no more power?
how much for a valver engine then mate and driveshafts mounts etc that comes to much more than 750
Yes, but after you have destroyed a few engines or mashed a few heads the price will get there. Also, 2.0 16v engine will cost you £500 for a working engine at the most, the fitting kit will cost you £400. The 2.0 16v engine will bolt in and work, the turbo 'kit' will cost £750 but the ammount of extra money you will spend will bring it up the extra £150 in no time.

You'll need to uprate everything if you are expeccting 140bhp. Your CV's will be very fragile and your driveshafts look like pencils.

different yes
reliable for £750... probably not!
as with other N/A engines, fitting a turbo, or other kind of forced incuction system will put shit loads more stress on the internals, which were originally not designed to handle it.
if you were going to turbo it tho, it would be adviseable to uprate internals too (valves, springs, pistons, rods, rod bolts, etc...) which will then skyrocket the conversion cost to well over 2.5k!
you then have all the fun of setting it all up right, sorting the fuelling, getting some sort of intercooler/charge cooler to try help keep the engine last longer than 5 minutes...
I think 6psi will be the MAXIMUM limit on the standard internals on the 1.4, you may even need to drop it down further to stop it popping its top!
also, is the turbo oil cooled or water cooled?? if its oil cooled you'll need to tap the block to get an oil feed to the turbo & also the return feed from the turbo... maybe even an oil cooler would be advised too

i think its too much hassel and work to turbo a non-turbo car , plus it will be unreliable also 190bhp from a 1.4 8v turbo ?? u sure

it is possible....
But i remeber courtney's early kits.... never a good word about them, and they were light pressure (6psi) and only produced 120bhp
I dont think it's such a bad idea.... but its not really going to be worth it in the end..... but what ever is ????
Forged Pistons......
New ECU
turbo
exhaust manifold
downpipe
bigger fuel pump
injectors
thats pretty much what you say your getting for 750?

you wont get even nearly 140bhp out of vaux 1.4 8v engine, you'l be lucky to see 100bhp without it popping, you will only be able to run a low pressure turbo you'l blow a hole straight out the bottom end

why not just drop a 1.6 in there, dont take much to get these engines to 150bhp as at first vauxhall were gonna make that engine to have that kind of power anyway, and it will be alot more reliable than a 1.4 turbo

very optimisic seeing as your struggling to find a front bumper for your car? I cant see it happening personally
if you fancy it and unreliability go for it but cars are not worth the expense if it can be avoided.
