adam i thought my old XE corsa was quick 14.6 1/4 and was ready for doing another ut i bought an astra gsi with a LET in it , its got hybrid turbo 8.1 litre intercooler, eds phase 2 chip set, piper cams and usual filter zaust gubbins, tbh off the line its poor 1st is a waste of time i dont have lsd mind you, but once rolling it is very very quick
already ate an F20 box though actually keepin a spare all the time lol

i always used to think XE then XE on tb's if wanted more. not now

depends on what power you want to

Still think a 240bhp XE would rape a 300bhp let round a track

Biggest mistake a man can make is by thinking a turbo engine is unreliable.

The thing which is concerning me over the last couple if days, is if my standard engine is strong enough to cope with the claimed 310bhp im going to be running once the fueling/boost/mangement is set up.

It depends how you set it up, most people think you just make every single mod you can to get the power you want, that's not really the case, I think I've done a post this week, where I explained that to highly modify an engine in certain areas, you have to make the engine under perform elsewhere, so the engine doesn't blow itself to shreds.

What kinda mods are you planning to get 310ish

300'ish should be fine on std internals

Uprated fueling/mapping (pump/injectors/ecu/FSE) big FMIC, raise the boost

3" bore system, current forge i/c, pahse 3 chip, poss. change injectors but have got an adjustable FPR, enlarged regal(or similar!) top hat, im told my turbo is a hybrid, and change the actuator as opposed to using the strengthening/assistor spring i have sitting here. Oh, and a nice smooth metal pipe from the i/c to inlet instead of the 9+joins i have at the mo!

I can only advise you corbychops, but I do recommend you uprate your oil pump if not anything else, getting a bad oil delivery with the mods your wanting to do would be lethal to your pocket in the long run and I wouldn't want that to happen to ya mate!
