2.0 8v Nova with a garrett t34 hybrid turbo, Autronic Management and a 50bhp shot of Nitrous.
So cheeting then
Why is it cheating then??. Please explain. It does high 11's without Nitrous, if thats what you are referring to!
Becasue anyone that uses NOS allways react when there accused of cheeting becasue they use it

So you are cheating if you win a track race and you use nitrous to help ypu on the straights??.
Are you cheating if you use it to gain more BHP on your road car??
Are you cheating if you are Barry Sheavils and you use nitrous on your drag car???.
At the end of the day Nitrous is cheap power. How much money would you have to spend to gain 50 bhp otherwise?? .
People only say it's cheating if they don't have it themselves.
The car is 270bhp without the nitrous. It's performance is not only down to BHP, there is alot of ther things that make it run so well too.

point proven i feel
i dont want nos and would never fit it to my car, so point number 5 is incorrect
i would much prefer to have 400bhp without NOS than 300bhp and a 100 shot
this should not take away the achivments of people like rod tarry as whitout it i doubt 2001.8mph would have been achivable
but it amuses me the way people allways kick off about it, same as is using race fuel cheeting

and if people like martin hadland know its easy power and has proven how much quicker your 1/4 mile can be with it and without it on a back to back test then surely thats a good enough example

It's not cheating though is it. The Nitrous gives our car 5/10ths of a second. The other engineering work we have done has been more adavantageous to be honest. it it was cheating, why is it so widley used, especially in the states, where it's been used in drag racing for over 20 years at all levels.

i would rather see someone run up the stip, get a good time and then reveal they spent 45hours porting and polishing the head to gain 7bhp than someone who went to wizzards of Nos and said "ill have that kit please"

Where in The drag strip rule book does it say using nitrous is cheating?. In that case using SUL fuel is cheating too. Just seems a very small minded view to me thats all. Although everyone is entitled to their opinion. Have you ever used nitrous yourself?

The thing with this though jr is that they've already modified the car in other ways, thus getting power out of it and then added nos.
Ok Jr sure you'd prefere to have 400 bhp true power, rather than 300 + 100 bhp shot of nos. But at the end of the day, most people don't have unlimited budgets and if they have done everything else they can do 'In Their Budget' - why not let them put nos on it. Especially if other's that they are racing are also using NOS.
I'd never put nos on a car of mine, It's pointless saying you can do a 1/4 mile in a certain time - but then in the real world when you don't want to use your nos your far slower. But still, if someone else wants to use it - whats the problem?

no i just find it amusing that peopel allways react like this on the subject, there was a 12 page post on passionford on the same subject, i have only been in a car with nos, never driven one myself
if you noticed the origial post there was a there, possibly indicating i wasnt serious at first

I did notice, just wanted to know your reasons why you think it's cheating. As I have said before, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I respect your opinion, even if I don't agree with it.

i jsut wanted to see what NOS users reaction it when others say its cheeting, i personally would rather see 1/4 done without NOS, but you cant deny if someones does a 11.2 second run etc, with or without nos
