don't believe it could beat an RSturbo unless there is one left without engine mods on the planet, even a standard one

"I have recieved several email about the performance of this car, I have told everyone the same. This engine was rebuilt by a friend who was the previous owner and has worked for Vauxhall Performace for the past seven years and builds the engines for touring cars. This is just information that he has told me when I brought the car from him. Anything else done I dont know. People are more than welcome to come and view and take it for a spin. Thanks. Lee"
Hahaha! Excellent!

both C16XE and X16XE came in the GSi, C16XE fitted from launch 1993 to late 1994, and X16XE fitted from late 1994 until GSi production halted in 1995.

maybe if you upp the rev limit to erm.... 15000 RPM
would the sbd 1.6 corsa even do that? the f15 box is stupidly short....

changing the final drive would be a necessity, i think the F15 would need a really high rev limit and stupid power to reach 145 mph

not a chance, its not been mapped they will gain about 4bhp, the exhaust and BFO cone will gain 1bhp......
I'm also thinking that it's 125 bhp-ish at least.
At the CTC power-meeting at freddycane there was a standard Corsa X16XE with open-air filter and changed exhaust which gave 119BHP!
thats bull shit! its not an accurate reading at all!
Hey this is funny
Hi there! i just registered here
so happens to be that i'm the one you're talking about
Freddy Cane is one of the most relyable dutch engineers when it comes to dyno runs
When i just bought my corsa i did a run on it on the 13th of June 2004
the only engine mods at that moment where:
-x16xe (@ default 106BHP)
- K&N univ. openair cone filter
- Complete open supersprint exhaust with the default katalystic converter still in it.
The dynoprint can be found here:
Click on it to enlarge
a pict of the enginebay at the same day:
I'm currently busy getting some more Horsey's out of it
allready got:
-Mantzel powerbox
-KentCams Sports-r 260 (COR1612)
-Spesso Racing Gasket
-got rid of the catalystic converter
and i'm stil working on:
-Powerboostvalve
-Custom dyno-tuned chip
picture atm:
But this is my fist post here on the forums so i'll post some more info/pics lateron.. stil have to figure out how to create that 'my garage' thing here
Cheers from holland!

exhaust and air filter gainign 10bhp is a joke tho mate, i have spent lots on my x16xe engine and its 138bhp little more done to it than filter and exhaust..... however your car looks rather nice! wouldnt bother with an fse boost valve tho. to get a garge you need to pay £12.50 to become a premium member. welcome to corsasport

I'll do a new run @ the 22th of may!
will post it here okay?
ow p.s. i took out the headlight before the dynorun, maybe that's the reason for the gain?

assuming 185/60R14 tires (1.82m per revolution)
3.74 final gives:
5000rpm 102.5mph
6000rpm 123.0mph
7000rpm 143.5mph
8000rpm 164.0mph
3.94 final gives
5000rpm 97.3mph
6000rpm 116.8mph
7000rpm 136.2mph
8000rpm 155.7mph
4.18 final gives
5000rpm 91.7mph
6000rpm 110.1mph
7000rpm 128.4mph
7750rpm 142.2mph (my rev limit)
8000rpm 146.8mph
The box is stupidly long if you ask me. as you can see on std wheels if you had enough power it's pretty long
