you may struggle with laminates that look like basketball court/gym floors as its actually individual wood blocks that are around 2'' by 6'', I am sure you can get a laminte though to replicate it, however you may be better off with a vinyl floor covering that looks like wood, as it will be cheaper and easier for you to use.

Cheers for the advice guys.
Thinking of doing it myself, just a little worried about around door frames and the walls are all slightly out so getting it down straight may be a little bit of a problem. Will have a go in the summer once all the exams are over but I’ll get the flooring and some tools over the next few weeks.
Don't think underlay will be needed really but I’ll find out once I’m laying the flooring I guess. I'm on the ground floor and 2 of my neibours are great but they is one wanker who complains about us 3 making too much noise. The housing managers just laughs at him now. I think he's doing 2 of us a favour really as we wanna buy the flats so let him keep up the good work

One of my mates had a go but fucked it up Ended up getting some guy in who never used underlay. However, a bit in the middle has come unstuck to the floor so it sort of floats up off the floor around an inch
