all you lot fail to understand is that OPEC are not supplying for demand at the moment. ITs got fuck all to do with the UK government, and fuck all to do with the petrol companies. Unless the price of a 44 gallon barrel of oil falls, prices at the forecourt will continue to rise if the demand is there. Thats what makes the world go round. The sooner you realise its no-ones fault inparticular, the better.

The price of petrol is governed by individual companies and the level of taxation placed on it by the government so it has a little more than fuck all to do with them both.

I hired a Holden Commodore 3.8 V6 or something like that, cost me the equivalent of about £20 to fill up the tank (think it was 60 litres or so)?

What a lot of shite imo. Is it not somethin like 70+% tax on the price of a litre? Obv fcuk all to do with government. If even a bit of the money went back into roads etc then maybe it would be a bit easier to live with but just by looking at them it obviously doesn't.

at your gay comments. It aint blairs and co's fault that the price of petrol is heavily taxed, same with fags, blame that on snatcher and the like for introducing such high duty on petroleum. And if no money was being invested in the roads, they would be a lot fucking worse than they are now. you should count yourself lucky that you can get from a to b so easily...
With regards to sxi4's comments, yes the price of petrol IS governed by each petrol company, but since they recieve nearly all their stock through OPEC controlled refineries, they have no choice but to buy at the going rate and sell at the going rate to make a profit.
