alot but that was the question
Best one to look at for handling is BAT's rally car its a 1.6 200+bhp and will out handle most things.....

That would be interesting to be honest.
I have completed this convertion myself - the 20XE is so done and dusted to be honest - not saying its not good but just done to death a little now?

bring on the std c20xe times
14.4 anyone
both cars are stripped out both have lightened wheels etc etc
think its the best your going to get
so looking at them 2
a mild tune 1.6 would loose to a XE (as andys was mad tuned and over 200bhp)
exception the this would be LeeM old car as that thing was quick for little mods it all seamed to work right together

My statment about a 215bhp 1.6 having less tourqe than a 2litre was only to show how little tourqe is gained modding the 1.6, i was no way saying a 215bhp corsa wouldnt beat a standard C20XE'd one it would wipe the floor with it, get a C20XE otherwise you will regret it, the managment will work on the C20XE too

As Ive said before a good balance of power for a Corsa is about 160bhp. Ideally this would be acheived from a 1.6 on throttle bodies as the main part of its tune.
At that power it would be semi reliable as well I reckon.

but a standard C20XE will be as quick and even more reliable, plus ya dont have to drive it around at +5500rpm to find the power

Yeah but its been done a million times and the heavy engine in the front upsets whats already a poor handling car!
........oh, and the sound of throttle bodies! Mmmmmm

if we are talking the best all round car i would go for the 1.6 16v on TB, for handling, power, track use etc i agree with Stu.

i do not beleive all these weight differences ppl talk about.
I had an x14xe now have an LET.
The handling differencer is almost unnoticable

yes jr some peeps pass statements without even actually driving them
typical scenario ive had with valver i was following me m8 to mk cruise in his saxo vtr, im in valver, he absolutely ragged his car limiter in every gear upto 90-100 all i was doin was takin mine to 4-4.5 rpm and then just waited til he was at 100 and then shot right up his backside 115mph in 4TH gear and i never went NEAR 5K RPM WOULD HAVE KILLED HIM AND LEFT HIM IF I BOUNCED OFF LIMITER IN EVERY GEAR
