Olly S&T arnt that good. Steves thundercorsas paint job is a million miles better than mine.

S&T did a shite job on my car spraywise. I need 1 arch completely re-doing i have about 1 million stone chips on my car where they just havnt used enough laquer.

Im taking it to them to fix a few little peices, then rich is having my car to spray it next time

Midas cust. service is excellent IMO, ive never spent a penny with rich and ive never met anyone mroe helpfull from a bodyshop, noel etc at S&T hardly ever wanna talk to me if i have to phone, i could of spent more with them but they wont listen lol

For what i piad i think they did an excellent job. THey have been good sports also iwould reccomend them and let them smooth anything on my car etc. But they wont be spraying it again

The things which always gets me when people slag bodyshops off about there work is when they look around for somewhere to take there car, they always ask a price and go from the cheapest.
the bottle line is if you want this 100% imperfection free paint job you got to pay your money.
Example
Full respray from places like QVR is £4000+
Full respray at places like midas £1000+

ive not had any work done by rich,a nd dont even know the guy.

but ive been in contact a few times with him about work i needed doing, and he was great everytime. he advised me what the best thing to do would be, and then two ro three different options, and how much it would cost from them.

really nice guy.

i would use a spray shop that i know is sound and not out to make money from people

have one lined up for all my needs.

they don't do many modified cars, only really insurance work for volkswagon and audi

so many companies starting up now with the modified car market in mind, and most of these people/companies see it as a money making outfit, not a creative job to show off skills.

prices usually reflect a companies intentions

i have know Rich for ages now hes a top bloke. As for his company again i can only say there work on my car was outstanding, he did little jobs i dident even ask him to just so it would be 100%.

when i got there to collect the car, there was a small knock on the rear (looked like somone had opened a door on it) Rich and the boys hadent Noticed (was very very small) and within 5mins of me pointing it out the boot was off ready to have it sorted and repainted that same day.
the paint job was stunning, really nice job, i admint there was 1 or 2 very very small defects (which you get in ever respray) in it which i noticed when i back it a wash when it was back home, but when i spoke to rich about them he was like "not a problem whenever you want to come down again i will have the all sorted for you."

I will use Midas again with every car i own in the furture for any work i need, i will also recomend people to them.

Midas get 10/10 from me

Funny that, a car they knew would attract a lod of attention at loads of shows where it would be the centre piece of many stands, and it was also going to be mag featured with a full studio shoot out.

Seems wierd that they spent so much extra care over any other car that wouldnt be their rolling showcar .

Ollie your welcome to view my car, u can see what they did.

If they told me it would be 2 weeks and it took 4, why would i be asking when it was ready i NEEDED my car and told them this, as i said they dont communicate very well.

As i said they are good they are having it back to repair a few minor bits i need them to do. I trust them with my car. The work they did on fibreglassing my bumper was amazing, colour match was stunning.

I was asking them when my overdue car was ready, did they just let it go out the bodyshop with only 1 layer or laquer on it then? I doubt very much a proffesional bodshop like that would not do a major job like that.

My rear arch has cracked, and was also not smooth, i have laquer runs on my bonnet and tailgate as well as a crack in paint where they didnt finsih my spoiler properly. The fitting of my front bumper is dubios. Thats wheat they will be sorting this time.

Thundercorsa is definately not wank olly, i see it all the time.

Im not slating them. Im saying their spraying is not good enough for me to give them money again, but for what i payed for i think it was reasnable, hence why i havent complained.

The place that did all my bodywork bits and bobs is a Jag insuarance centre, they had never done modifications before but did a perfect job. You get what you pay for also I payed £600 for: lock and wiper smoothed from boot, also touch up a bit of rust under rear window, repair and plastic weld crack in front bumper and paint, smooth jacking points into skirts and repaint and colour code the handles

On the midas subject tho....

The only feedback I have seen/heard is when Gary - legend_of_yrag had his Imperial Blue corsa done there - when he first got the car back it was shocking, really fucking shocking.

Poorly fitting bumpers and skirts ( the doors actually rubbed on the skirts and their answer was to stick some tape on the skirts to stop the door rubbing the paint off ) and the paintwork is self was awful, over runs, not enough paint in certain places meaning could still see the original colour etc....

but in Richs defence he was a really sound bloke sorting it out, had the car back straight away, put it all right including another full respray! He blamed a poor batch of paint but to be honest in my opinion it was just a rushed job.

I think this is where a lot of places go wrong, they work really hard to get peoples cars ready quickly when they want them and comprimise (sp) quality.

Good luck to him trying to get money out of Midas. Doesn't have much chance.

If a company screws up you have to give them 3 chances to fix it to an acceptable standard before you can go elsewhere and claim the cost back from them

I love Rich, a lot of there work it seems like the prep work is shody.

Smooth doors etc, you can see ripples where the handles have been smoothed, the paint on a lot of cars seems to have a kind of ripple effect on the doors.

Jambo, I think if you take your car to Midas you are going to be disapointed, your regard for them seems to be very high.

I hope they don't let you down.

Midas most probably wont be painting the car next, i may have some specialist dude lined up.

I do regard midas quite highly on what i have seen, but i will still continue to use S&T due to their reasnable pricing and generally are VERY good at prepping a car!

well - iv no trouble with midas - i know my car aint to everyones taste - but they have put a lot of work into it - il b honest - there have been a few odd bits that needed sorting - but they were more than happy to sort it - as beardy said

im very pleased with what they have done - and would use them again

and i dont get why this person decide to take the car out of the bodyshop if they had said they'd sort it....

still its between this person and midas so i wont say nemore

am sorry i dont agree with that .

a one man band who might have nothing on may respray a car for £400 and do a better than factory finish.

so its not about price , its about how good the painter is
