Yeh that's exactly what happened on the bigger tables.
I hate people who rise instead of call when I want to see the flop.
If it wasn't for these people I'd not lose so much... The thing is, your 2 cards are only as good as the rest of the community cards that will be played. Even with Ace King of the same suit or even Ace Ace - you may not have a good hand when the community cards are delt.
I'm always curious to see the flop, so I call - but then some twat who's trying to bluff raises for the sake of it and so I have to call his raise.
Then when the flop comes my say A K is useless... so I have to fold, but I've already lost a few dollars in the process.

Like just now Ace Queen, called for the flop... got to the flop and it was 5 10 3, then turn was 9...
My cards are useless now...
Where as other times I'll fold my 6 3 straight away and it'll be just what I need for a straight.

The other problem is it's quite hard to bluff in limit.

yeh you can play 'practice mode' - as well as for real money... but people tend to play differently. In real money mode people fold easier, in practice everyone goes all in a lot more / takes more risks.
www.pacificpoker.com
www.partypoker.com
www.pokerroom.com
I'm considering starting up some way of cashing in on this
You watch the thing rake say 25 cent from each game, but when there's 61,000,000 games... it all adds up.

But be warned guys... Basically unlike things like black jack (where your playing against the casino) ... poker is against the other people sitting round the table, so for someone to win money - someone else must lose it!
and the last couple of days I've lost just over $100 ... I'd get too greedy and then fuck up.
I think I'll leave it till I go back to uni, before I play again.

Your ace queen is not use less the chances are you are still winning. If you get good cards in your hand you must raise it big before the flop.... you should only get called by people who have also got good cards... this means they are very unlikely to have a 10 a 9 or a 3 and you can reraise them with confidence. Do this if you get a -k or a-q..... dont do it with a - 10 or a j as your probably in kicker trouble

This works both ways--- unlike other gambling you are not playing against a 'house' or casino so someone is garunteed to win money in every hand--- you just have to make sure this person is you

It has nothing to do with luck-- it is all about playing based on probability. Yes, you can get lucky or unlucky in a game, but over a long period of time you will counter act any luck involved

yup DrPepper I like the fact your playing against people too and not against a casino or a computerised dealer.
I'm entering a Free Roll $500 tourny at 7:30pm ... 6000 seats available, already 4560 people registered for it - I don't rate my chances, but it'll be a laugh and give me an idea of my level of skill.
Plus it's free to enter so why not

WOAH that was v. fast paced... each game 10 mins...
our game was over in 4 mins 30. Everyone was going all in so quickly. I would of done pretty well if the guy hadn't of got 3 Aces
but oh well, fucking funny - deffo gonna enter the next.
I finished 3924th out of 4670 contenders. A guy on our table was out in like 10 secs.
After only 14 mins of the competition it's already down to only 2940 people - over 1700 people knocked out already madness. So rapid as it's no limit poker.

Dont ever play poker pissed--- never play it if your in a bad mood.
You have to be in control or things can go really bad for you--- people are trying to make a living out of bad players.

I go to a Casino in Sheffield on odd occasions, had some good wins, but once I win a good sum, I don't play anymore again that night.
