what do they do well it depends what you do with them.....

If i threw them at you it would bloody hurt.

If you fitted them to your car it would increase your inlet air flow and with the correct mods to complement them give you more power and torque

Hows the STI BTW Adam?

Just upgraded the brakes on mine to 335mm..............you have got to do it! Probably worth 100bhp on a track compared with the shite Subaru stick on them!!!

Yes, Pipercross already make them. They're used on motorbike engines a lot.

Yeah, I had individual filter socks on my car. Trouble is you dont have much room back there, the bulkhead comes really close!!! I think some people chop a hole in it but didnt fancy weakening the chassis by doing it!

love the sound but never had them on my car. as a daily drive it may get a little annoying....but fill the boot with ICE!!
cold starts are dodgy too

The trumpets in front of the bulkhead!

My would run phase 2 for sure, but would be on standard boost 90% of the time, i just like the idea of having the little button there with 280 bhp to use if i need it,
would also fit a diff, so wont be lighting the inside wheel up round corners!

TB's are nice, sound everything, but having 280 bhp and being able to use that in 3rd gear on track and cars which are same power will suit me much more!

I'd like to see any throttle bodied corsa beat me on the road...

Even the quickest Corsa I know on TB's does the 1/4 mile in 13.0 ish.... BUT that was with slicks, locked diff etc... so it got a demon launch. By 60ft the car had made about 0.5 on me.

Look at the terminal speeds on the 1/4 mile and I was nearly 10mph quicker. So beyond 100 I'd demolish it I think...

Don't get me wrong I love TB'd cars, but to be competing with a good turbo car they need a ridiculous spec (I know of one in an Astra..)

its all straight lines for the turbo then?

not having a go at LEt's.... just dont think one with 300bhp would fair well agaist a 240bhp TB xe with anything involving corners

mine make lots of noise, use lots of fuel, make the car backfire loads, and generally put a big smile on my face when the right foot hits the floor

disclaimer: i only do this on private roads, and stick to all relevant speed limits elsewhere

edit: dam lefts and rights
