Colin - If its elephant ur getting quotes from on there site for a jap spec then ignore it... if u look at the small print it says they will only insure imports over 25 !
ive got a Jap Spec TT ,, glad i got it over the uk ,,fresh import so its like brand new underneath plus lower miles.. ull struggle to find a UK spec with less than 80k
try norwich union direct... im 21 paid £835 fully comp with me dad ,,, (got a mate in the insurance company)

yes..... bigger brakes, turbos, injectors.....
but its not faster than the jap
j-spec is lighter, turbos spool up quicker etc...
UK spec is 320bhp std
J-Spec is about 310bhp (276bhp useal stated shite)

bonsai?
They can SVA/MOT if needed .... they have diff packages etc, all the info is on there site.
There is more hassle doing it yourself rather than buying off a forecourt, but you do make a saving
