open up the plug and re-solder it.

disconnecting the air mass meter will screw up idle. it wont hold its own, since it needs very slight adjustments to keep idle between 850 and 1000rpm.

i disconnected and it ran fine.

the only slight ( ) problem was it cleared out a silencer of fibreglass sort of silencing stuff

It's the negative terminal of the coil that the rev counter takes a reading from in fact......

the 12v has a air flow meter and a idle control valve,both are parts that frquentlt break on this corsa

All modern engines have an idle control valve/stepper motor of some description.

I love the guesses people are giving on here!

Yes sam, i was trying to ascertain which one the 12v had, and it turns out to have both which is odd, since they both do the same job.
