Not wanting to sound negative, but how much did GAP charge for the turbo timer module?
As I only found out when the alarm fitter came and fitted my 650 that the "Turbo Timer" was infact a £1 maplin relay!
Glad the car is running though.

Not being able to drive it as often as I like because I can't leave it anywhere because it doesn't have an alarm is the very reason I need a new alarm, and needing a new alarm is the very reason I hardly drive the sodding thing.
It is also a condition of my insurance, so if I leave it anywhere, technically I am uninsured, so i'm sure you may now appreciate that I need a new alarm.
Oh, by the way, it may have slipped my mind and I might just have forgotten to include this, but did I mention the fact that I need a new alarm.

james i can only think it may be the fuel pump or bad wiring or the ecu. Are the fuel pumps expensive? Easy to fit?

I dont know what to do anymore, i have to repair it no matter what, but its problem after problem with this car, as the car is, even when fixed it aint worth a lot. Modified cars are gonna be the death of me, im considering just getting a cheap car that will do the job reliably going from a to b, however a good reliable car isnt gonna be cheap and i really cant afford it anymore. Will see what tuesday brings, its going to audi, not happy, 115 quid labour per hour, but it has to be done.

yeah joe, i think its now 5 minor hit and runs, expensive repair bills, so far ive had to replace the throttle body, maf sensor, lambda probe, new alarm the other day, bushes, stereo is now broken, had to get a new fuel regulator as old one wasnt working properly and now probably the ecu. Its been a very expensive car the last year or so and there is only so much i can take. Most is wear and tear, but speaking to most A3 owners, hardly anyone has had the amount of problems i have had. Just had enough. No doubt when it gets fixed ill feel different again, but it just seems to be a botomless pit of money. If they change the ecu, ill also have to get it rechipped i believe aswell, thats another 500 quid.

4.5-5k once repaired, but thats including the bodywork needing repaired which is about 700 quids worth. My other option is to park it at my mums off the road, declare it off road and buy a reliable cheap motor and insure it to run around in. Meanwhile save my bollocks off and work on the audi in my own time until it is back to top spec and ready to go. Could pick up a runabout with tax and mot for a few hundred quid, doesnt have to be anything special as long as it works well and gets from a to b safely.
