All i'm saying is there is no point putting an engine into a car that is less suited just to make a rare car.... its a track car, not a rare pointless show car

Sierra XR4X4

....good looking......

Tut tut, silly me, what was I thinking.

In the automotive beauty stakes, there are obviously the greats, Bugatti, Ferrari, Maserati, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Iso Griffo, BRM, Auto Union, Lotus, Aston Martin, TVR, etc. etc...

and then there's the real work of aesthetic genius...

the one true beauty of the motoring landscape...

the antithesis of all that is grotesque...

the car who's striking appeal would shame Adonis and Aphrodite and make Venus cower in the shadows...

the heavenly transport that can cause the gods to weep from it's mere presence and that is not fit to be looked upon by the eyes of mere mortals...

The one true beauty...

That is...

...the vauxhall corsa

I hope that dummy you just spat out finds its way back to you.

Do you see me using my impreza as a track car? Do you hear me saying my impreza is small? No.

An XR4 is a bag of shit. Almost as bad as the suggestion of a cav.

You were refering to the vehicle in question as a barge.
You drive an imprezza, a car that is only marginally smaller; and that you don't deem to be a 'barge', so your argument doesn't realy hold water.

Had I suggested a Granada, or a Cadillac, or perhaps a Bugatti Royale, or maybe even a barge; the comment would have been justified, but a little excessive on this occassion I think.

Incidentally, as far as the projecting of infant soothing devices is concerned - I think you more than likely hold the distance record sir, what with your insulting vernacular and negative responses towards the suggetion of a Ford rather than a corsa or imprezza

where did you copy and paste that from

Also, If you hate Corsa's so much, you know where the door is. Cock.

From my mind - they can be such a usefull asset to those of us that are blessed with one.

As far as Corsas are concerned, I do not hate or even dislike them. I am very partial to the little Vaux in fact.

One of my work colleages and several of his friends who I have had the good fortune to meet all drive Corsas and they are cracking little cars.

I was merely drawing attention to the fact that your aesthetically based argument did not have a leg to stand on when your bench mark for automotive beauty is a small mass produced hatchback.

The Sierra in question is a larger mass produced hatchback and is as such, no more, or less pretty or worthy than the Corsa or any other car for that matter. So derogitary and non constructive comments to a genuinely helpfull suggestion are both unpleasant and unnecessary.

I hope I have caused less offence than you.

That sort of goes without saying doesn't it.

The Subaru weighs less, produces more than 50 horsepower more and was developed nearly a decade after the Sierra.

The fact remains that the Ford can be purchased for approximately one tenth of the cost of the Subaru, would be less costly to maintain, and would be similar fun to drive.

This whole thread is based on the need for a 'cheap' track day car, so, on this occassion, that makes the imprezza and your comment redundant.

Thank you

It was only intended as a joke and to underline the unnecessary rudeness of an apparently ignorant man.

No offence was intended, and I do realy like Corsas; or I wouldn't be here.

Goto a track day, Prembey is your closest, and have a look.

Go and do there leel one driving course (accord type R) and see how it feels. You might love track driving, you may not.

Best thing is to speak to people that regularly do it (think AK and JR do) but half the people on here proberly think a combat kit gives you 20 more BHP.

Speak to people that do it, or join a track day forum.

But i feel an XR4x4 with a scubba diving NOS tank would surfice

It would appear that although quite rude at times, you do have the capacity for gentlemanly behaviour.

So, hug accepted
