just tell the insurance people that you rang up to tell them about your points but the person on the other end of the fone told you that it wasnt necessary til renewal date. Simple

Most insurance companies record conversations for this very reason...

They may not pay out at all or they will just charge you the extra on your premiums and then take it from the pay out.

Usually this is this case, however if the car you crashed is v expensive they try to not payout.

Hope it goes well, but remember it's worth declaring the points in case of times like these, although every penny any one can save from the robbing bastards is worth it.

I would keep quiet untill they bring it up and then confess all and see where to go from there.

it will be fine just tell them you spoke to someone who told you it wasnt necessary til renewal, if you tell them you cant remember the name of the person and it was sometime say 3 or 4 months ago they aint gonna bother searching for recordings, think how many thousands they would have to search. I i dont reckon they record all conversations, they wouldnt have the space to store such data, would take up hundreds of thousands of gb's of storage.

I reckon they probably only keep a couple of months worth of recordings
