Yep, agreed! I only say it most of the time to wind you up dude!!!

Like you say, they are high performance and it can only be expected really and its the same with the EVO's aswell.

Saying that tho, there are good number of P1's on the owners club that have done over 90k without a single problem..............hopefully the one you buy Stu (and mine for that matter) will be one of these lucky ones.

Hows your car going at the moment Nismo? Is it in the process of being fixed and how much has it cost? Average rebuild to standard spec on the P1 is about £3500!

Only problem is that they are private sales and sold as seen. Seriously may be worth considering a Subaru approved used car that comes with a warranty. yeah it may be a grand or so more expensive but thats nothing to 5 grand if it does go bang!!

You wont be disappointed tho, they are a great road car. Very predictable and makes a novice driver (like me) look like a veteran rally legend!

Servicing isnt that bad...............
£120 for an oil service and its just cost me £400 for a belt service!

Brakes - you would probably upgrade to be honest so as much as you'd like to spend.

Clutch - Clutch kit is £350, when they go they usually take the flywheel with them which is £200, so about £800 fitted

Nope, definitely not as expensive as an evo and the servicing interval is longer as well!!!

Yeah, they seem to be fine when standard! Like I said, budget into your price for a set of gauges and a knocklink (may even have these already, most have!!) and you'll be fine! Fitting of the above is a doddle! Scooby Clinic quoted a full day to fit oil pressure and temp gauges, took me 4 hours!

The other good thing about the Scoob is that its like it was designed by a mechanic, its an absolute doddle to work on!!!!

Youve got to really want a p1 to pay 15k for a classic scooby IMO. Dont get me wrong its a superb car and perfectly balanced for uk roads. For 15k id have to get an EVO 6, if i bought another impreza I think the JDM STi 5/6 are much better value for money.

But hey guess if you really want a P1 you pay for it.
