i want to get one within the next month as i need to sort the exhaust, it seems to be vibrating against the rear bumper or sumthin and my ABS light is on, so they are 1st priority.

godfather, a tad over 1000rpm is fine if the engine is just started from cold. should be down to around 850 once warm

dont bother with cams until you have stand alone management. need to run verniers to dial them in properly and until you can do that, gains will be minimal. spend the extra on a stand alone management system. will see better gains than the dastek and cams.

dastek unichip: £500
cams & verniers :£400

for £1k you can get a full aftermarket ecu, loom, fitting and mapping. unichip is a bit of a dead end. i.e if you wanted to do cams after or even throttle bodies, you can with the proper management.

264 are not as lumpy as people make out as i had them in my 1.4 16v and JR has the shriek equivilants in his 1.6 16v.

IMO its worth getting the verniers as it makes them easier to set up in conjuctuion with the chip otherwise its false economy.

If you want a decent price on some piper 264's for your 1.6 U2U me i have a mate who deals with them
