i moved the wiring, and took the seats out, but didnt think abut the screen, which now has thousands of tiny chips and splatters of metal on it

but autoglass are fitting a screen with tinted strip for me tomorrow for £37.50 through my insurance (i told them it had a big chip in it)

wheelarch, with a pry bar and a 4 pound lumphammer

luckily, it'll be under the mount for the cage, so it'll have a plate welded on it anyway

the hammer didnt slip really, the pry bar pierced the inner arch slightly

(in 3 places)

but all will be fine soon

leaks a bit at the mo

yeah i put various holes in mine i used a 4lb hammer a big fook of chisel and a dril and a grinder

i removed this much



and a little bit more

i haver a hole in exactly the same place as the top one you have, but on the passenger side

my brackets didnt like being removed, took a while

and i took out the mounts for the lower bench bit

still undecided on firbreglass boot or trim the old one down

how does removing the crash bars affect your insurance??surely if you got hit up the arse end and the insurance company come to look at it they wont pay out

I don't get why you'd spend all that time stripping out every last bit of the interior......then fit a roll cage which weighs about the same as the interior anyway....so you see no gain in performance

yes because the roll cage would weigh the same as the 125kg i have shed by stripping the car

it would weigh about 25kg

The safty devices cage my mate had for his escort weighed 60 Kg...when i weighed my interior which included the spare wheel it came to 42 Kg. How did you manage to get 125 kg out??

sound deadening, stereo, spare, ice, jack, seats, leccy window, mirrors, lighter seats

a half cage will be 25 kg or so
